What is ogranic farming / agriculture?

Organic farming means agricultural growing with traditional productions methods with the help of the modern farming used nowadays, preventing the using of chemical or synthetic, fertilizers . When the first time application starts,the harvest amount will be lower in comparrison to conventional agriculture, since the usage of artificial fertilisers and fast growing preparates will not be used. Meanwhile as opportunity to artificial fertilisers and spraying , natural methods like inputs prepared with natural products and insects are used for pest control and diseases.

To sell a product as "organic" the Farmers and the agricultural production has to be inspected and certified by independant organic inspection and certification bodies. When the rules are applied and the inspection shows a positive result , the farmers get an organic certificate for their products.

Since 1972, IFOAM is a leading umbrella organisation, that covers 750 member from 108 countries under the same roof, working together for the aim to develop and increase organic production in the world. In Turkey, “Organic Agriculture Associations” (ETO) has been established in 1992 in Izmir by with the participations of producers, consumers, processors, controller, researcher and technical people. The Association has more than 300 memebers from different areas in Turkey.

- To use the energy source which could be renewed and to make energy possession ,
- To prevent the health of the people who are working in the producing and agricultural enterprises ,
- To increase the security, production circle and income levels of the farmers ,
- To get products which are healthy and have advanced nutrition quality.

What is organic product?

- Organic Products are produced according to certain production standards, meaning they are grown without the use of conventional pesticides, artificial fertilizers,human waste, or sewage sludge, and that they were processed without ionizin radiation
- Organic food production is legally regulated
- Organic Products are products grown without any changes in nutritional value and structure and without disturbing and spoiling the environment .
